About Us

The Plant Industry Forum (PIF) was formed in 2006 for all Plant Industry members of Plant Health Australia (PHA) to collaborate and progress common goals to strengthen Australia’s biosecurity system.

Purpose

The PIF provides a forum to discuss biosecurity issues, share insights, test ideas and help shape national approaches to preparedness and response.

It also strengthens relationships across sectors and ensures plant industries have a coordinated voice in national decision making.

Membership and Governance

Members comprise representatives from all Plant Industry Members of PHA.

The PIF is led by the Plant Industry Forum Committee (PIFC), which is formed by a number of PIF representatives who are tasked with responsibility for providing strategic direction, governance and operational oversight.

A PIFC Support Officer is based within Grain Producers Australia to assist with coordinating key activities to ensure tangible progress on important priorities.
